About the Real Shenandoah

The Real Shenandoah National Park page is a product of Sum Random Company. It is designed to provide all the information needed to plan a fun and exciting visit. When you go, you might be tempted to stay on Skyline drive, stopping at an occasional turnout to take a quick picture. We encourage you to do more! Get out of the car and have a picnic, or hike along one of the many trails. In short, see the "Real" Shenandoah.

Many of the pictures on these pages are full color JPEG's. They look much better if they are displayed with more than 256 colors. If possible, increase the color depth of your video before looking at the pictures. If you can't do that, you may want to get an external image viewer, they usually do a better job at displaying pictures than your average browser.

Lynx Friendly

Our pages should render correctly on the Lynx browser. For those of you who don't know, Lynx is a text mode browser. Though it may seem archaic, it is quite advanced., It doesn't have as much overhead as graphical browsers, and enhances readability if you have images turned off. If you are using Lynx and have trouble reading a page, please let us know.
