Shenandoah Picniking

Map of picnic areas You need to eat, and where better to eat than outside? Just stop at one of the turnouts and pull out your lunch. Of course, if you want something a bit more civilized, there are developed picnic areas allong the drive.

  • Dickey Ridge (Mile 4.6)
  • Elkwallow (Mile 24.1)
  • Pinnacles (Mile 36.7)
  • Big Meadows (Mile 51)
  • Lewis Mountain (Mile 57.5)
  • South River (Mile 62.8)
  • Loft Mountain (Mile 79.5)

Picnic areas have tables, fireplaces, water fountains, and bathrooms.
